WSA Research - Global Research on Nature and Humanity

WSAR-A org II jpg.jpg
  • WSA Research explores and gathers scientific knowledge from around the world regarding nature, people, and the living environment, investigating their interrelationships and mutual influence. After all, human beings do not exist in isolation: from the beginning of life to the end, our functioning is shaped in part by biological processes and the environment in which we live. A better understanding of these connections provides insight into why we age, how health changes, and which factors contribute to aging more healthily.
De mens is biologisch gezien geen zelfstandig, geïsoleerd systeem. Het menselijk lichaam functioneert voortdurend in wisselwerking met zijn omgeving.
  • WSA Research Academy makes scientific knowledge about aging understandable and applicable. Discover what changes in your body from young adulthood and what role nutrition, exercise, sleep, mental resilience, living environment, and other lifestyle factors can play in aging more healthily.
  • Understand how your body ages — and what you can do about it yourself. WSA Research Academy translates validated science on aging into understandable knowledge about the body, lifestyle, and prevention, for everyone aged 25 and over who wants to consciously work towards aging more healthily.
  • VigorAevum translates that knowledge into your personal lifestyle under your own direction!

WSA Research onderzoekt daarom de samenhang en voortdurende wisselwerking tussen drie systemen: Natuur, Mens en Leefomgeving.
The HUMAN System

  • Biologically speaking, the human being is not an independent, isolated system. The human body constantly functions in interaction with its environment. Light and darkness, for instance, influence circadian rhythms; temperature and air quality affect physiological processes; nutrition provides both building blocks and signals; microorganisms live with and within us; physical activity both stresses and maintains tissues; and social and psychological conditions can impact physiology through the nervous system, hormones, and behavior.
  •
Veroudering is evenmin één afzonderlijk proces. Het ontstaat uit een opeenstapeling van veranderingen en beschadigingen op moleculair, cellulair, weefsel- en systeemniveau.
How do humans age?
  • Aging is not a single, isolated process. It arises from an accumulation of changes and damage at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and systemic levels. Factors such as DNA damage, epigenetic changes, loss of protein quality, mitochondrial alterations, cellular senescence, changes in immune and inflammatory processes, and declining repair capacity all interact with one another.
  • The rate and consequences of aging are not determined solely by our genetic makeup. Genes, development, chance, lifestyle, and environment interact throughout our lives. While some of these factors are beyond our control, in areas where we *can* exert influence, taking charge of our own lives allows us to make conscious choices that contribute to aging more healthily.
